Our Technology
At Balmain First Dental, we choose to use advanced modern technology and the advantages it brings for our patients. The state of the art equipment used in our clinic provides effective treatments whilst minimising the discomforts often associated with dental technique and treatments.
Digital Intraoral Scanner
We understand that having goop filled impression tray in your mouth can cause not only discomfort but can bring about the gag reflex that no one likes.
We believe that by using the latest technology, not only are we helping patients feel more comfortable whilst they are with us, it reduces the need of messy moulds of traditional impressions.
The level of precision and accuracy of digital impression allows us to obtain a complete 3D view of your gum tissues and the unique characteristics of your teeth as well.
Using a hand held scanner, the scan of your oral structure can be done in a time efficient manner.
Digital X-Ray Machines
Radiography with X-Rays is the starting point from diagnosing or screening of a variety of oral health issue such as bone recession to decays.
Whist traditional X-Rays uses films to capture imaging for the mouth structure. At Balmain First Dental, we utilises digital imaging technology to produce noninvasive and relatively harmless X-Ray images that enables us to diagnose oral health issues effectively.
Our machines allows us to take:
OPG X-Ray is a panoramic scanning dental X-Ray of the upper and lower jaw. An OPG helps demonstrate the number, positioning and growth of all teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted through the gym.
Cephalometric X-Ray shows the side view of your head, exposing teeth, jaw and surrounding structures. Often used for orthodontic evaluation.
Bite Wings images are taken to show teeth above the gum line and the height of the bone between each tooth. This is often used to provide a high resolution image that helps our dentist to detect subtle changes that occurs between the teeth, gum health and detection of early signs of cavity.
The Bite Wing X-Ray films are placed on the tongue side of your teeth and held in place by biting down on a tab. Normally two bitewings are taken as a set.
Intraoral Camera
A small camera that is used to take still images of the condition of the teeth which helps in assessment and diagnosis of plaque formation, dental cavities, gum disease, chipped or crack tooth, broken dental fillings and other oral conditions. This helps patients to visualise the conditions of their oral health so they are able to make informed decisions about the dental treatment they require.
